         CHEER    INFORMATION 

 

 

*Placements and Registration is held every November.

*Season runs from February  through to  December  for ages 5 years throught to adults

Squads are: 

Mini All Starz:        5 to 8 years 

Youth All Starz:     9 to 11 years

Junior All Starz: 14 years and under

Senior All Starz: 10 to 18 years

Open All Starz:  14 years and over 

*Offering levels from beginning through advanced (Level 1-3)

*Practice 2 +  times a week with an additional tumbling class

*Competitions attended regionally and internationally

*Annual end of year concert in December.

 

COMPETITION TEAM SIZES CAN RANGE FROM 10- 30 (except Tinys and Minis)

 

Level 1

Tumbling - Each student must have a cartwheel, round off and forward roll.
Jumps -      Each student must demonstrate two different jumps.

 

Level 2

Tumbling -  Each student must have or working on standing backhandspring (with a light spot). Light spot is defined as ONE                                hand on student. Student must also be working on having a round off back handspring.
Jumps -      Each student must demonstrate 3 different jumps. (pointed toes, landing with feet together is encouraged)
Stunts -      Each student must demonstrate level 2 stunts ( examples: prep level liberty variations, double based extension)
Motions/Dance - Each student must demonstrate an average understanding of motion technique (sharpness/arm                                                          placement) and we recomend students participate in a jazz classes. 

 

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Tumbling 1:

Learn and perfect basic bridge, bridge kick over, cartwheel, round off and basic motor skills.

 

Tumbling 2:

Learn and perfect standing and round off back handsprings. A perfected round off rebound with straight legs is required.

 

Stretching:

This class is designed to increase flexibility. Different techniques are used each week. The stretching class will help all athletes specifically flyers and dancers.

 

Flight Classes:  We are introducing flight classes.  Flight school will provide 60 minutes of flyer specific conditioning and practice. Activities include strength work, stretching, balance, aerial awareness and body positions. Flight school is compulsory for flyers. It  benifites many athletes who want to increase their flexibility.

 

Conditioning Class:

This class is devoted exclusively to CONDITIONING AND STRENGTH TRAINING. This is an intense class to keep you in shape and to strengthen your body so that the most difficult of skills are attainable for you! Must be age 7 or older to attend this class!
